Feeling Overwhelmed by Problems and Obstacles

Narrow your focus to the most basic of things. 

Ask yourself what is the next best thing (not things) to do.  Is it getting gas in my car?  Is it going to the bathroom?  Is it getting a snack?  Is it brushing my teeth? 

This may sound silly and overly simplistic, but that’s part of the goal. 

Freeing your mind to focus exclusively on the next best step allows you to remain committed to your personal needs, giving matters beyond your control time to happen  - which could facilitate resolution.   For example, a phone call may be returned that you needed before you could proceed, or a memo may arrive that answers a dilemma, or a power failure may stop productivity. 

Any number of things likely happen throughout the course of a day to alter your schedule and provide insights that were necessary before you could arrive at resolution. 

So, free your mind from the things you can’t control anyway and focus on the next best thing and the next best thing only.
